Hot Topic: Suicides for being gay
Just this past month 6 young teenagers were bullied to death for being gay. Justin Aaberg age 15, Billy Lucas age 15, Asher Brown only age 13, Seth Walsh also only 13, Raymond Chase age 19, and Tyler Clementi age 18 are the victims along with many others that suffered from bulling because they were gay. All of the names that I listed above are the six kids that everyone has being talking about. These kids either shot themselves, of hung them selves because of what people said to them. The most recent and victim was Tyler Clementi, he was only 18 and he was a college student at Rutgers University. He jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge after his roommate secretly broadcast him having intercourse with a man over the internet. Clementi’s room mate, Dharun Ravi and a friend, Molly Wei, used Twitter to ridicule Clementi and inform friends that “Roommate asked for room until midnight. I went into Molly’s room and turned on my webcam. I saw him making out with a dude. Yay.” Ravi then broadcast his webcam video online. This was one of the comments that his room mate made. What has our country come to that people think that it is okay to pass judgement about a persons life. I don't see anything wrong with gay people. It is horrible, these kids are just our age and they are commiting suicide. When we hear stories about the child labor in history during the Industrial revolution we are so grossed out. But what's so different from what kids today are doing to each other? Something needs to be done about this. People need to get over the fact that they are people that don't want to be like everyone else. And so if your gay that makes you a bad person? How does the fact that your gay make you different from who you used to be? I don't understand it.
