- Paul and some of his classmates were made to guard a supply dump in a abdandoned village, they quickly build a dugout and create a meal
- Unfortunately, the enemy sees smoke rising from the chimney and bombs the house, all the soldiers take the food and run to the dugout
- Paul and Kropp are both wounded by a shell, Kropp is injured in his knee and Paul is injured in his knee and arm
- Kropp has an illness and is therefore taken to the nearest hospital and Paul fakes an illness so that he could end up in the same hospital as Kropp
- Muller is shot in the abdomen by an enemy soldier and his painful death kasts thirty minutes
- Paul recieves Muller's boots which once belonged to Kemmerich
- Kat is wounded by a shell when he was out scavenging for food and dies due to the fact that a fragment of the shell hit his head
- After inhaling poisonous gas, he is given a leave for fourteen days
- In October 1918, Paul was killed on a quiet day and therefore the saying "All quiet on the western front", Paul's face looks so calm as he dies
