In my opinion, I believe Marijuana should not be legalized. United States of America being the most “criminal” nation in the world spends billions of dollars per year on courts, corrections, and arrests, and almost 50% of all drug arrests have somewhat related to marijuana. Many people may think that, America is wasting lots of money, when it could be used for education, and economy. In addition, it is estimated that California produced most cash crops, and has most taxation of marijuana. If marijuana were to be legalized, California’s economy would be repaired back to its normal status, and may go over the top. Not only in California, but also in other states, there would be thousands of available new jobs relating to marijuana. According to an article in Time, new jobs would sprout from agriculture, marketing, advertisement, and packaging. However, people who apposes on legalizing marijuana are speaking for the safety, and health of the society. Drugged driving, failing education in school, and many deaths will be the results to legalizing marijuana. Although marijuana may positively contribute to medical situations, we should do all that we can to protect health and safety of the public.

i believe we shouldnt legalize marijuana b/c if we do everyones going to start wanting to legalizing all ilegal drugs. also if legalized marijuana it will make it more availible to minors. even though marijuana's positive for medical purposes people will probably abuse the drug
ReplyDeleteI dont think it matters if poeple want to legalize it because its the governments choice. The government can make good use for the taxes. people just smoke it anyway and end up getting in trouble.
ReplyDeleteWell, with the legalization of marijuana the testing for it will also change. They will be allowed to change regulations, because it would be legally controlled.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that we shouldn't legalize marijuana. What would the government do with the extra money anyway? There will be demands for making other drugs legal, which could be a problem. We need to prioritize health and safety over a surplus in money.
