jim crow laws

when i read just the first paragragh of this article i was disgusted. i mean how can christian ministers and theologians think that God supports racial segragation, thats just plain stupid. God is suppose to equally love everyone , it doesnt matter if the persons black or white. i felt sad for what blacks had to go through, it wasnt just a law, but a way of life. every black person was judged by appearance and not their character which is wrong. like you shouldnt judge a book by its cover, but blacks were still disciminated. all of these laws or rules seemed pretty stupid, but some stood out to me like blacks and whites couldnt eat together. really? i mean how can black people offend someone in the same restuarant if their just eating. that has no logic behind it. another ridiculous law was that blacks cant show affection in public. again they arent bothering anyone so how could it offend white people. also just reading about the lynching was horrible because how could people have the heart to do that. dont they feel guilty for what they did? im glad this racial segration is over, but its sad how people could do this to another human being.

  1. It's so wrong the way the white people thought back then. If people were really Christian then why would they think that these things were okay? How can someone hate someone that much to go and make laws to go against them? I don't understand that. I am so glad this is not the way of America today.

  2. I agree with you epecially about the christians thing. God is suppost to love everybody equally so I don't get why they would think that God would support segregation.

  3. I aggree with your feelings. I just dont understand how they could continue with their lives by killing several blacks. Wouldn't they feel guilty about killing innocent man? and also about the christian stuff. God told us to love each other, and i don't understand how they got the idea from. Doesn't make sense.

  4. I agree with how you felt about the laws. There wasn't much meaning to making the laws, but they were made just because of how the whites feel about the blacks of their race. Just because of their own views on them, they start to put these laws on them to segregate them. What if the blacks put a law on the whites instead of what happened, and not allowing the whites to do certain things? How would they have felt?

  5. I agree with you. How could white people be so cruel to blacks? It is just disgusting. There was not sense in making the laws, they were jsut created cause the color of skin. Its just so horrible and disgusting that blacks got treated that badly:/
