"Talking paper" about Jim Crow

After reading this passage, one word came to my mind: "impossible." Back then all those people didn't know what they were talking about. first paragraph says, "christian ministers and theologians taught that Whites were the Chosen people" Just because their skins was visible during night didn't mean they were the Chosen people. I frankly felt horrible and bad for all the colored people, and troubles they faced. Only if Africa was economically, politically, and militarily strong from The Beginning, they would be the one ruling and making whites what to do. However, whites had no right to mistreat them; excluded from public transports, facilities, juries, jobs, and more racist trash.
I honestly hate Stetson Kennedy, the guy who made Jim crow guide. Not only blacks were segregated on everything whites did, they were also treated with violence. I had to stop for a minute, and mentally picture all those blood caused by Whites. Especially, I detested on lynching part. As the passage states, jim crow laws were a way of life. Everyone is judged by their outer skin appearance and I personallly hope no one becomes similar to these misguided people. I am very glad many blacks resisted, and finally receive their freedom.

  1. I agree with your point on "Chosen People." I don't think that the whites were the chosen people just because they say that. They just think that the blacks aren't good enough for them and wanting to segregate them with the blacks even more.

  2. I agree with what you said about the "Chosen" people, who defines who is chosen, why couldn't the blacks be the chosen ones and the whites cursed to slavery? I also hope that people do not become misguided by such people and traditions as well.
